Hope for abandoned and abused children in Ecuador

Casa de Fe

Casa de Fe is a home in Shell, Ecuador for abandoned, abused and special-needs children from the Rainforest. It started in 2001 when Patti Sue Arnold, an army veteran who had been asked to come to Shell to work in a wheelchair repair shop, was asked to take in a foster child. Then another one needed a home, then 10 more, then 20. Families in the Rainforest do not have any resources to care for special-needs children, and sometimes there is community pressure to abandon such a child or the whole family is ostracized.

Today over fifty children are being loved and cared for at Casa de Fe. Patti Sue and a team of short- and long-term volunteers from all over the world also provide for the educational and medical needs of these children, and the need for support is ongoing. Calliope translations sends 10% of all income to Casa de Fe.
