About Me

website picI was born and raised in the Netherlands, and have lived in the United States since 1987.

I am accredited by the American Translators Association, the largest professional association for translators in the US with members in over 90 countries. The pass rate for the accreditation exam is 20%, so hiring an ATA-certified translator removes much of the guesswork regarding competence.

I have extensive experience as a translator in the medical field. I primarily work on clinical trial documentation, from Ethics Committee approval to hospital reports and informed consent forms, but I also work on forensic cases and lawsuits on a regular basis.

I am also a member of the Northern California Translators Association and the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators.

Partnering with Casa de Fe

casa de feWhen you work with Calliope Translations you are also supporting Casa de Fe, a home for abandoned, abused and special-needs children in Ecuador, because 10% of every dollar is donated to Casa de Fe.

Medicine and writing go well together, they shed light on each other and both do better by going hand in hand.
